Born in 1996 in Karlskrona, Sweden, World Champion David Ronnefalk had his first taste of racing aged only 7, but would ascend the industry ladder, turning professional only six years later in 2009, crowned the first of many Swedish National Championships and bursting onto the international scene by taking the European ‘’B Championship title.
David’s father Pierre enjoyed flying RC planes as a hobby but chose to introduce the young David to cars instead of planes! He would start out with a Kyosho Mini-Z, driving all time at his local club in Karlskrona.
David’s journey took a step forward when he met Sweden’s at-the-time most decorated RC Racer, Magnus Amilon. Living only 30 mins from them, Amilon whilst still competing immediately spotted the talent and introduced David to the class he would come to dominate and favour; 1/8th scale Offroad.
A second hand high-competition Kyosho MP7.5 Kanai 3 as a birthday gift immediately saw father and son team Pierre & David embark on their first racing event; a regional Swedish Cup race in 2003. It didn’t take long before David found his feet in the multi-round series, winning the cup in 2006 & 2007, his young age earning him many fans and followers as he ascended rapidly.
